Gatineau Concrete Pours With Pro-Grade Material Systems
What sits under the surface determines how long it lasts. We specify Ardex, Sika, Mapei, Laticrete, BASF, Rust-Oleum and other tested brands, then install each system to the manufacturer's published standard. That commitment to material quality is why our concrete holds through Quebec winters.

How Concrete Material Choice Affects Long-Term Performance
Every layer of a concrete assembly has a job. The base, the slab itself, the waterproofing, the repair mortars and the topcoat all work together to resist freeze-thaw, load and moisture. We use Sika waterproofing and Ardex underlayments because they are formulated and tested for the conditions here. Consumer-grade alternatives often are not.
The right material for the right surface is half the work. Mapei self-leveling compounds flatten an interior floor before finish goes down. Rust-Oleum epoxy systems protect garage floors from salt and oil. BASF lines carry heavy equipment loads in warehouses. Matching the product to the job is what keeps concrete performing.
Installing the full manufacturer system, primer through topcoat, is what keeps both the product warranty and the workmanship warranty valid. We spec and install that way on every foundation, patio and floor, residential to industrial.
Our selection process
How We Select Concrete Materials for Each Project
-
Evaluate the surface and conditions
We determine what the concrete must handle: interior or exterior, foot traffic or vehicle load, wet or dry, and what substrate it bonds to.
-
Choose the brand and full system
We select the material line built for those conditions, then specify the complete system, primer, body and topcoat, not a patchwork of mismatched products.
-
Follow manufacturer installation specs
We install to the published standard for surface prep, temperature, coverage and cure time, which is what keeps both warranties in force.
-
Document and hand off
You receive the product names, datasheets and care instructions, so any future work is compatible with what is already in place.
Material questions
Concrete Brands & Product Selection, Explained
Why material choice matters, how we select systems, and what it means for your warranty and durability in Gatineau.
They walked me through why they chose the self-leveler and topcoat they did instead of the cheaper kit I asked about. Two years on, the floor still looks the day it was poured.
Foundation waterproofing done with a proper system, primer and all. The basement stayed dry through spring melt for the first time since we bought the house.
Asked for a specific epoxy brand for the garage. They confirmed it would hold up here, installed it to spec, and handed me the product sheet and care steps.
What stood out was the paperwork, exactly which products went down and how to maintain them. Made it easy when we added a matching slab the next year.
