Durable Concrete Floors in Gatineau for Kitchens and Basements
A poured concrete floor outlasts carpet and tile, needs no grout lines, and works with radiant heat. We build them polished, epoxy-sealed, stained or micro-topped, starting with a flat slab and finishing to your room's needs. Every project gets a free written estimate and a firm completion date.

The foundation matters
Why Concrete Floor Prep Determines the Finish
A polished, epoxy, stained or micro-topped concrete floor is only as good as the slab beneath it. Uneven spots, old patches and surface irregularities show through any finish, so we start by making the base flat and sound.
That is where self-leveling underlayment comes in. We pour it over an existing or new slab to bring it into tolerance, creating a smooth plane for the finish coat. When you want radiant heat in the floor, the tubing gets encased in the same underlayment step, so prep and heating happen together.
Once the slab is flat and ready, we apply the finish you chose. A polished concrete surface brings out the aggregate and shine, an epoxy coating seals it seamlessly, or a thin micro-topping overlay resurfaces tired concrete without tearing it out.
The sequence
How a Concrete Floor Gets Built in Gatineau
-
Inspect and measure the slab
We look at the existing concrete for moisture, cracks, flatness and any old coatings, then recommend the finish that fits the room and the slab condition.
-
Prep the surface
We grind or shot-blast to remove old finishes and contaminants, repair cracks or damage, and pour self-leveling underlayment where the slab is out of plane.
-
Build the finish system
We apply the finish coat by coat, polishing, epoxy-sealing, staining or laying micro-topping, following the manufacturer spec from primer through topcoat.
-
Cure and hand off
The finish cures to full strength, we walk the floor with you, and you receive care instructions to keep the concrete looking new for years.
Finish selection
Choosing the Right Concrete Floor Finish for Your Space
The room and your lifestyle guide the finish choice. A polished concrete floor works best in open-concept living areas and basements where brightness and easy cleaning matter, while an epoxy-sealed floor suits utility rooms, shops and spaces that need chemical resistance.
For colour and warmth, stained concrete brings acid or water-based dyes into the slab, perfect for kitchens and sunrooms where you want depth without grout lines. A micro-topping overlay is ideal when the existing slab is sound but dated, laying a thin seamless new surface without a full tear-out.

Concrete Floor Questions Answered
Finishes, prep, cost and living with concrete in Gatineau homes.
Polished the whole main floor after a reno. It is bright, dead easy to clean, and the self-leveler they poured first means there is not a single high spot.
Epoxy floor in the basement utility room. Seamless, wipes clean, and they built it up in proper coats instead of one quick layer.
Stained the kitchen floor a warm brown. The colour has depth you do not get from tile, and there are no grout lines to scrub.
Micro-topping over an old cracked slab in the sunroom. New seamless surface for a fraction of a tear-out, and you cannot tell what was underneath.
